Things Id like:
- level reset, bare minimum to make NG+ enjoyable
- gear NOT tied to either Class 03 or Class 04 is lost
- all money lost, also very important (maybe keep 5.000 for that hidden Achievement)
- Chain Abilities that can be gotten in each playthrough are lost
- ALL consumable items that exceed a quantity of 5 are lost (minus the Serums)
- unused Item Seeds are lost, unused Class Changing items are lost
- *limited number of Serums obtainable increases from 10 to 20 per playthrough
a) Lil-Cactus progress;
b) Costumes unlocked;
c) NPC abilities;
d) Pot level;
and reset levels back to 1. Even going with previous characters naked isn't enough. My lv80 Angela can one shot most enemies early game using the weakest staff we can buy.
So if you want challenge, better begin a new game or wait until someone can mod a 'reset to lv1 on ng+'.
I think the best way is to have an option at the start of NewGame+ where you can "tick boxes" of exactly what you want to import, e.g. cactus progress, chain abilities, etc
WTF YOU KIDDING ??? Why do you call it ( NEW GAME+ ) just start NEW GAME and you will have eveything you like, like what you say
i know how to do that, make a backup first of your saves (important) you will stuff it if making an error.

Look for a setting (ctrl+f) offensivepower, you will have as many counts as in your whole save file for each character (3-6). A bit above and below that setting you will see the ones to change, see following:
1. Above that setting closeby will be:
Level :(99) – change value to 0
Hp :(2172) – change to 1 (optional else it will readjust automatically in game when you get hit or lvl up)
2. Below that setting closeby will be:
TotalExp :(6545767) – change to 0
MaxLevel :(1) – change to 0
You can do this before or after your newgame+
The reason I say that is you can choose not to equip those. Unlike the level which you cannot choose to lower currently.
This post isn't very clear but it's actually a viable solution. To sum up:
Go to your documents/MyGames/Trials of Mana folder and find the savegame folder. The save game files are 1.49 MB. One called ADAT is the autosave.
Upload your NG+ save to that site and it will display a bunch of settings that you can alter. Ctrl+f search for "offensivepower," which should show 6 results, each representing a character's stat section.
Look for the ones where the level and HP are high and you know those are your old characters. Set the level to 0 and it will reset them to level 1. You should also reset TotalExp (look below the level/HP sections) back to 0 for any characters you want.
Note: I had already put 6 training points in each stat for my Hawkeye, and when I reset his level he still had his training points invested. Leveling up from level 1 did not give additional training points, but I imagine they will start accumulating once I hit the appropriate level.
The level goes to 1, and hp goes to the correct value the next time you get hit. Training points are unaffected by this. but you wont double up on points through leveling.
