Damn...you made it all sad and ♥♥♥♥, i as just going to say he had autism.
While this is likely it, there's also the idea that crossbreeds in general in this universe suffer some mental development issues (cough Charlotte cough).
Basically Eat. Sleep, Train for most of his life
This was how I thought after playing the SNES version. The 3D remake changed the story behind Kevin's speech to be caused by him being raised as a lonely fighter without social contacts, so his fragmented speech could be because of his low confidence and social anxiety too.
If you want Kevin on your team but don't like how he talks you could take him as your third character. I don't think the third character gets to say a lot.
wrong, sir... the fact that gau can even speak 'english' is stupid because he was raised by animals. kevin was raised in a community of other beastmen who all speak normally. being a loner or an outcast doesnt really mean 'speech impediment'
it just seems like an incredibly odd thing for the designs to have gone with to me.
You're ok with "beastmen" speaking english, but not ok with Gau being taught by animals and learning english? He ain't wrong.
Kevin talks weird because he wants to be cool and mysterious.
I'm no expert but I remember reading that kids who are ignored by their parents have the hardest time developing, even worse than kids who are more directly abused by their parents. Kids who are directly abused by their parents don't do so well either, though. When Kevin wasn't one one end of that, he was on the other. He was the prince of the beastmen kingdom and the only friend he was able to make was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ wolf out in the woods.
