1.press m (or what ever) to open map,
2.press 2 () to switch to world map
3.keep pressing W or ↑ to switch map mode to get a full detailed view
4.hover your cursor over each location to see if you have unlocked all the cactus in the location.
now run boy! i i didnt know you can do this until the end of the 2nd run hehe.

if you have trouble crossing the blasted bridge, you can go back to the other side of the bridge if you go southeast from Valsena / Forsena .
for me Stonesplit Gap and Duskmoon Forest were the last two to unlock. personally finding the lil cactus kun in Maia port felt the hardest because it went against the flow of the game. sometimes you can walk across shallow water or stand on top of tents. most of the time you cant, and it felt kind of inconsistent.

One of the ones that eluded me right until the end was back in Cascade Cave, since you pass through there so early in the game before finding Li'l Cactus is a thing, it gets cut off for some time due to the "new" Wendel barrier, and you kinda just forget about the place, after that. XD

This only works if you've been to the area with the missing cactus. It won't appear on the map otherwise.

A number of people looking for the last one have found it was in the small town in the desert, which is surprisingly easy to skip completely. You won't see the 0/1 on the map, since it doesn't appear on the map until you go for the first time.

After you get to 35 Sightings you will be able to tell which maps you have found Lil Cactus and which maps he is still hiding.
Well I was looking via the air landing sites, not water landings.
The last Lil Cactus was on Oblivisle and area I thought I already had looked before but never did.
Now I'm just going through the long area of Anise's Stockyard area.

Gonna save you the trouble, Anise holds no Lil Cacti, nieither does Bucca Island the Ghost ship or any inaccesible areas before you get to the final battle. There will be 2 on on Dark Castle, Jungle of Illusions or the Dragon Isle.

Here's that link to all the locations again.
