this is what you're talking about right?
though I can already hear the *fans* going on about who-know-whos dark class change.....
Forgot to add that at least your link clarifies that it can be changed regardless of choices made beforehand. I suppose the next question is what will we see in New Game +. It really makes me wish that if Square Enix does do a great job in this, they can update it to work for co-op.
Same, the're doing A LOT of work on this and more.
I really do hope it works out for them so they can do more support for this title in the future
This is the description for Hawkeye's Class 4. Other characters are the same.
One of the topmost Thief classes. Wardenkeeps have the support skills of a Nomad and the versatile attacks of a Rogue. They learn abilities that automatically strengthen their party.
One of the topmost Thief classes. Vigilantes know the hindering moves of a Ninja Master and have the high attack power of a Nightblade. After weakening the enemy, they can take them down with their strength.
Technically speaking, this Class 4 may really limit our final choice from 4 Class 3 to a simple option - Light or Dark. I'm not feeling good about them but let's wait and see.
I suppose the question here is do these Class 4 advancements come with extra skills, or only 'upgraded' skills if they exist. It sort of hurts the replay factor if the 2nd class choice (which I think will be the deciding factor) or 3rd class choice ultimately decide your Class 4 advancement.
Like for example, can I go duelist (dark + dark) on Duran, and then pick Divine Hero as my 4th class, while keeping all of Duelist's skills and spells? I'm kinda hoping you can do this, because then a 4th class pick would be what you choose to balance out your class with stuff you don't have. For example, maybe DIvine Hero learns multi-target light saber, and you can go dark + light on Duran for Sword master to get multi-target elemental sabers, and then pick Divine Hero for additional sabers. Or, maybe you want multi-target heal rain on Kevin, so you go with Warrior Monk, and then settle on Kevin's Dark class for the 4th class to get more damage.
Yes, you will be able to respec your class with an item called goddess scales. How many are available per playthrough is anyone's guess though. They're supposed to be pretty rare.
I mean, some of them are good. "Mystic Queen" isn't that far off from "Witch Queen", and "Spellbinder" is clearly better than "Spell Caster" (wait, she *wasn't* casting spells before? Hmm...).
But I really Like Spriggan better than Wardenkeep, and "Vigilante" doesn't really click for me (but we all know Disney owns the word "Avenger"...). Savior sounds also better than "Divine Hero" imho.
But the worst contenders are still Lise's names. Just "Meteor" is way cooler than "Meteorite", and... Brynhildr, really? You do know that it's her Light path that's supposed to use Valkyrie names, right? Hraesvelgr is better thematically (we have Jormugand and Fenrir already), and fits more with the model itself.
Also, do we know 100% that the 4th classes just have all the skills from their previous Light/Dark cklasses? If true, Lise gets heavily shafted, as all she'd gain is an extra summon, whereas Light Hawk would get more spells than can fit in the menu...
I guess the true difference will come from whatever each class gets from their training tree, then.
Oh, and since I'm sounding pretty negative here, I'll just finish by saying HYYYYPE, CAN'T WAAAAAIT, so you all know I'm still super optimistic
The original Japanese name is also Brynhildr. And according to Nordic mythology Brynhildr is kind of a fallen Valkyrie, and she caused the death of Sigurd so yeah, I think the name is befitting the Darkside...
Don't worry, not gonna happens. Even with Hawk. Because now you have to put in Training points to learn moves and I'm sure we won't be able to master all of them. From what I have seen in some people's video who have the chance to play the game before it's released, I'm pretty sure my Star Lancer won't be able to summon Marduk simply because it need about 20+ point in the Intelligent tree and I won't let Lise go that way...
Btw, I'm so hyped up too. So hyped that I'm currently fan-translating the whole game, and farming the demo to make a savefile with Magic Pot Level 5.
If you go to the official Japanese site, her name is clearly (well, if you can read moonrunes) written フレースヴェルグ: "hurēsuverugu", Japanese for Hreasvelg (the final 'r' is often ommited in these names).
Official site: https://www.jp.square-enix.com/seiken3_tom/character/
(click on Lise's portrait, the button right under her CV's name to see the in-game model, round button right to the class tree to switch to her Dark path, rest should be simple enough)
Japanese wikipedia page on Hreasvelgr for reference: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%95%E3%83%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9%E3%83%B4%E3%82%A7%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B0
While we are on this topic, anyone know why they change Forcena to Valsena? The Japanese is definitely Forcena, though. Or is it true that they just want to get away from the fan-translation of SD3 as much as they can?
Inside the demo itself, I need to pull out the text so I can translate it :D
