Does anyone care about kill stealing?
Agreed. I suspect, based on my own testing, that it may be proccing based on the number of targets hit by a shot, not on the number of pellets that hit. Fortunately shotguns have some limited inherent penetration, like all guns, but the card being broken still leaves it arguably worse than Face Your Fears as a shotgun-protection card.
That said, if it did function as advertised, it would honestly be utterly broken. Empty an extended mag AA12 into a boss, gain ~120 temp health, become unto a god.
It's 0.25thp per pellet, but overkill doesn't count and you can only go to your max health (so nothing shows up if at max health and only 5hp if you are only missing 5 health).
Given thst most normal ridden due to the damage from 1 pellet (of you investigate it you'll notice 1 pellet does more damage than the rest) that's usually 0.25hps per ridden killed per shot, however, bump upto veteran at least and you'll start seeing more shots landing on specials / bosses which leads to alot more temp health.
I removed accuracy mods from my shotguns as I find aiming down sight is more than accurate enough while leaving hip fire nice and wide to take out a whole wide group in 1 shot.
If temp health didn't vanish so fast or could go a bit beyond max health, it would be far more useful, even paired with face your fears I find it of little use now and taking the combat knife along with melee kills heal you for 2hps is probably a better use of the card slots.
