Caravan Sparrow fight always attacks me?

I got the Caravan fight where Sparrow shows up and those Oranges are robbing a caravan, but I always seem to end up in combat even if I keep people near the map entrance. I've tried not attacking anybody, attacking the "east" group and the "west" group and all 3 times Sparrow ends up still attacking me after combat, so I'm not sure what is going on, I must be doing something wrong right?

The sparrow must not attack. After the shootout, you should be able to take him to your team. He attacked my enemies.

I tried just sitting there and hitting Space each time but he died in that combat. I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be attacking that doesn't aggro him after the fight.

You can take other companions. Crump in the Picnic location. Katarzyna Bielicka. Actor Jack on the set or Fox in the Arena

Yeah right now I'm rolling with Crump & Fox. Which is hilarious because it's the name of a golf course.

I was thinking what the hell am I doing wrong all are 13 and teleporting. Still haven't found a companion and the suit didn't fit the exit. tried the sewer quest only to be faced with a wall. All other quests in the game are optional. I haven't killed a single animal or human without access to tasers.

What i do is just run in there, encounter starts, i group up near Sparrow on the cliff edge and just pass turns. Dont attach anyone until about half the enemies are deleted, then start defending sparrow once he gets attacked. The npc's down in the ravine will occasionally attack sparrow but shouldnt do too much damage. Once several of the enemies are killed though, by the other enemy force, is when they'll really forcus on sparrow and that is when you're already standing there ready to defend him.
