Sparrow Gender?

What gender is Sparrow meant to be? They have a female model and when they spoke during the event I met them they had a female voice. However all dialogue with them refers to them as "he" and their portrait could be either.

New intel: when asking Katarzyna what she thinks of Sparrow she says: "she... well, I mean he, he's protecting me."
Which indicates that she IS canonically intended to be trans or something similar.

Sparrow has a female body but is described as male in all instances, they're not transgender as that would have given them the other gender which it doesn't. I think sparrow is a woman disguised as a man, rather poorly given they have very obvious features. I've only ever unlocked chapter 2 discussions with them and they hate white wing because of some experiments they do so there probably is a story in there about that but never bothered finding out.

i still prefer the "Senpai"-machine, but Sparrow ain't a bad char... her/his weapon is kinda underwhelming...that's about it.
