Belt Glitch

I have started a new game and am having a bad glitch. I have a belt but the game will not allow me to put anything on it. I tried buying other belts and the same problem applies. I cannot PICK THE LOCK at the base and progress (I imagine MANY other problems would arise later in the gamw). Can any developers please help.

you have to press < or > arrows near the icon on right bottom side of the screen, then right click the slot to choose required item from one of the million tiny icons. there is also an option to add an item to the belt when you right click it in inventory screen. It's a mess as it is now since there is no hotkey binds to switch or activate em items. But it's still better than an ability bar which you can't customize at all atm

You can also add an item to your belt from your inventory and only then click < or > in the right bottom corner to switch to your belt.

I'm glad you posted this because I created three different characters and played through to that locked door thinking there was a bug not allowing me to access the utility belt. I'm so annoyed now that I just quit and uninstalled the game. If you're going to hide a necessary mechanic at least have a popup or something explaining to people how to access it.
