Sonora pipe puzzle is awful

Like wow, no skill checks or in-game indication of any sort, I won't spoil the actual solution for those mesochist's out there who wanna find it out without the internet but wow that was terrible, at least @!%^ing highlight the thing when I hold down alt.

if you look at the area of the map where the steam is coming out of the pipes, there is a sign on the ground that says "1234" where each number is the color of one of the valves.

Yes i know, i finally found it while i was re-adjesting my camera, however that object is not interractable and relies entirely on the player zooming in to see it while most other puzzles in the game have multiple ways to do this one relies on the player to actively look around the environment which 30 hours in is the ONLY time the game has done this. bare min they could have mad it a perception check or something.
