Online mode is dead?

I just finished tutorial and then tried to play online (ranked matches), but it didn't work, and I'm only minutes away from being able to refund.

Should I keep this game for offline mode or return it and forget like a bad dream?

i play it offline sometimes or at least attempt to. I like it just for the ff6 characters
