WHole point in getting the deluxe edition was for the characters from ff6 to ff8.

do the characters dlcs go on sale or should I bite the bullet?

Just thought I'd chime in to note the reason Tifa's not bundled in the Deluxe Edition is because she wasn't in the 6-character season pass DLC (Vayne, Locke, Kam'lanaut, Rinoa, Yuna, and Snow). Zenos, Tifa, Gabranth, and Ardyn were released *after* that season pass.
