So, no semi-open world stuff like Duodecim? No side-missions and anything like that?
Damn, that's a bummer...
EDIT:
I mean, I know that this is originally an arcade title, but damn SE... At least create more single player content for the console & PC port, please...
No. NT is primarily focused on competitive online multiplayer. It's single player content is pretty standard for a fighting game. Just an arcade mode and a story mode. story mode isn't terrible but it's not as good as previous installments as it's not the focus of the game. Watching the cutscenes is fine and is probably the best part of the game. As they are amazing quality and is like a movie. (final scene is super badass)
If you're only interested in single player content then you're gonna be dissatisfied with the game. 012 primarily focused on this content as it's online wasn't good and it was extremely unbalanced.
so basically play 012 if you're into single player, play NT if you're into multiplayer.
Like all other fightning games. MK9, 10 and 11. The history mode are just cutscenes with battle. Only one different between Dissidia and MK is the point for unlock the cutscenes.
I still enjoy the game though.
i do hope they consider a mild remaster (like FF X HD) to Duo Decim at some point.
Sorry to say, I don't share your sentiments, it's an arena fighter at best, the same genre as Jump Force, Naruto games, and all the other anime arena fighters clones out there. What separates NT from the rest of the arena fighter is the fact that it has a "relatively" proper multiplayer balancing and no stupidly OP or busted gameplay mechanic to exploit.
Thanks for the replies though, I'm not gonna buy this game and just leave it as it is on my library then.
I do wish they would at least consider making a remastered FFD 012 Duodecim though, I haven't 100%ed the equipments on that game because my PSP broke before I finished it, and that 100% goal is long overdue for me.
arena fighters are a sub-genre within fighting games. I don't blame you for not buying the game. I personally have no plan to either as I'm perfectly fine now that I've purchased a couple of characters without dropping money for the full price of the game as I'm more focused on multiplayer than anything.
