As for super moves every character still has them just in real time.
Garland has a Grab for example that does tons of damage and near a wall is a gauranteed wallrush and free HP hit if uninterupted.
It's a Multiplayer game what did you expect?
They aren't there because it would constantly get in the way of every other player the cinematic is not affecting. I don't think you want to watch cutscene after cutscene of everyone elses battle and not yours because it would put your fight on hold just to watch other people have fun.
If that sounds fun to you, then you absolutely are just a single player person :P
This line particularly killed me. You aren't playing if you're watching. The only time you're actually playing is when you're in control and inputting commands.
There's no point putting cinematic that pause the gameplay so 5 other people have to watch it when it'll probably shows for less than 2 second before it get *skipped* back to real time gameplay by players.
Also, having super moves goes in real time emables other players to intervene or even maybe have unexpected result.
Personally I don't mind these things though I feel you have to be somewhat of a patient person to have played NT on PS4 considering matchmaking and I do actually want to bring about a counter point.
SD Gundam Online a game that is essentially Dissidia/Gundam VS games but with free aim did have "press x to be cool" special moves with everyone else not being stuck watching the cutscene, it just made both players untouchable. Besides just being cinematic it did also add another layer as a desperation mechanic that could let you stall for time if you were surrounded for your buddies to come around.
(Think Cloud Omnislash with Limit in this game for both players for the whole duration.)

@0:40 You can see what I mean. @1:49 for outsider perspective.
It's obviously not happening for NT but just wanted to throw that out there, as it's been done by other games before but of course opinions will vary on it.
And people keep forgetting that this game is a port of an arcade game...where high speed action is key. Having cinematics or whatever just takes away from the game. In arcades anyways.
