But because of the way RNG works you're likely to see groups of the same effect (good or bad) clumped together in the same action set more than would otherwise be normal with perfect RNG. And because of the way the human brain works, you're going to remember the bad more than the good. Your mind will gloss over all the times you healed for 400HP or got a party-wide reflective veil.
All that said, yeah, it's mostly just something to play around with for fun, or as an attempt to try and capitalize on killing Caits.
As for Exp, it takes more time using Bewildering Grace than what it's worth. There's a nice video on youtube easy to find covering what's the best method to farm exp.
