Weapon Stats and "Increase Damage" Question
I understand that when casting spell, the weapon with the highest elemental attack is considered.

However, what about ability like "Increase Fire Damage"?

If you equip two weapons with "Increase Fire Damage", does the increases in fire damage stack?

I saw on an article that mentioned that Therion is the best sorcerer because he can equipp two weapons with "increase Fire Damage", Harald’s Sword and Heathcote’s Dagger.

And how about Forbidden Bow. Does equipping Forbidden Bow increases enemy encounters even if your last weapon used is not the bow?

wait, really? So there is no point stack elem attack from more weapons even though elem attack of character still increase?

What about other stats like haste, crit, etc?
Basically if you use an elemental attack -- Lighting Blast for instance -- whatever the highest elemental attack weapon you've equipped will be used. So if you have a Wizard's Rod and a Soul Knife, it'll only use the 300 EATK from the Wizard's Rod.

Any other bonus stat will only be considered if the weapon is the one 'equipped' or you're using an ability from that weapon. So if you use Aeber's with a spear that boosts speed it doesn't matter, but if you use Aeber's with a Viper Dagger it will.

Elemental boosts DO stack, so if you equip Harold's Sword and Heathcote's Dagger, you'll get 30+30% boost, i.e. 60%.

Forbidden Bow increases encounters if you have it equipped, period.

If it works like this it is damn confusing game sum everything together as one stat on character screen - that is very misleading!

but stats from rest of gear are stacked together? (like elem attack from shield + armor + helm?

It doesn't though. In fact if you move the cursor between weapons, or off weapons, you'll see it switches.

damn you are right. I swear I would never note if someone would not say it... so now I have to completely reevaluate the gearing and also active weapon in combat 98and here I was preparing boost Cyrus elem attack by buying elemental bow before he will grab Merchant Job:/

One queston to add - can you change somehow the default weapon (the one you start fight with)?

Nope. A couple people have even tried to deep dive into modding it but no luck.
For elemental attack it use the highest elemental attack between your weapons with the exception of enchanting mechanic of the runelord.

Why would you want to change your starting weapon in battle ? You just need to push a few buttons to use the right tools (weapon or element) against foes. That's the whole battle system is about.

Well due the system it would be handy to have default weapon different than for example the one that provide elemental attack as this is nto needed on active weapon (eg as Cyrus with merchant secondary job I would welcome to have spear or bow instead the staff) the reasons are two - first you can have bonus like speed alůready active in first round of battle which is very handy and second with hundreds battles out there it is bit chore scroll through weapons every time.
