Secondary jobs are basically equipment, in a sense. Once you take them off, you aren't 'wearing' them any more. You can swap as much as you want but it won't affect anything inherently. You can, of course, keep and equip any passive skills you unlocked with that job, just that's it -- character stat growth is fixed to the character and JP is a full pool for the character to use on whatever skills they want.
So basically, use whatever combos you want, grab passives from other jobs if you need them.
That's why we all wait for a mod to have all 8 talents and all 8 path-actions at anytime doesn't matter your actual team (the REAL OCTOpath expérience)
