Looking for suggestions on how to level up quicker
So I just completed the first quest for every character, they are currently sitting roughly between Level 12 and Level 18. I seem to have a really difficult time leveling up though, as the fights are taking really long for how much EXP I end up gaining.

I really like the style, tone, and story of this game - but right now the grind just feels like too much. Any suggestions on which part of the world map to go for this level?

I'd suggest getting the secondary jobs next. They'll make your party a lot stronger, and so it will be easier to level up in zones with a higher danger level. Two Scholars are great for AoE breaking and damage.

Twin Falls till 22-23. You can use Cyrus if you want but it will make the grind easier. You really don't need to grind alot in this game tbh.

yep twinfalls ist best location you can even level further then 23 here. especialy primrose and orphelia are good secound scholars to break all the enemies. the good thing on twinfalls is you can encounter caits so have some elemntal stones ready to defeat em before they disappear.

Honestly, until you're nearing the end-game, grinding is largely a waste of time regardless of where you go (unless you enjoy it, of course but that doesn't seem to be the case).

If you're looking to boost the overall power level of your characters, rather than finding a new grinding location, I'd strongly recommend throwing on the Evasive Maneuvers (lower encounter rate) scholar perk, putting Tressa and Therion in your party (for free zone-change cash and purple-chest lockpicking respectively) and going exploring. Better equipment is going to make a 'much' larger difference in your combat performance than a few levels and there are accessible chests and Purchase/Stealable NPC's lying around all over the place.

For example, the second-best Elemental Attack weapon in the game is available for purchase from an NPC in Grandport on the roughly southeastern portion of the map. Spending 20 minutes (or however long it takes you to get there the first time) traveling there will make your Scholar far more powerful than an afternoon of grinding mid-level zones with bottom-tier gear.
