Ok. I see everywhere that this skill is amazing for exp grinding. All it ever seems to do to me is screw my party 70+% of the time. Do any of you here use this? Has anyone ever seen a 100X? I know I haven't. I've probably used it 30 or so times and have only gotten 1 5X and in the meantime I've nearly destroyed my party about 15 times out of that 30. The time it takes to recover and finish fights is pretty garbage when you get hosed.

So, did they nerf this skill compared to where it was at launch? Is it still worth it and if it is... how, exactly? I'm about to give up on Shakira here and shelf BG as an exp skill.

No, it wasn't nerfed. It was never actually an effective grinding tool to begin with.

People like seeing big numbers and yes, it can be a major boost if you just happen to land the 100x bonus on a boss or pack of Caits but the actual odds of it happening are so low (*edit - it's apparently only a 1 in 1000 chance and only possible with a max'ed boost) that you're probably just going to be wasting time casting it (if not killing yourself in the process) that would be better spent just one-shotting another encounter in a high-end zone.

For generally efficient, reliable exp, plowing through encounters in the Forest of Purgation is more than likely going to be the best you can do for endgame grinding and I wouldn't bother grinding at all before that (unless you happen to enjoy it in which case, go nuts). If, for whatever reason, you have a dancer in your party with 2 BP to spend that happens to act before whoever's clearing encounters (most likely a Sorcerer), then sure. You can throw a use of BG into the mix here and there and hope you get lucky (though again, this is just as likely to be a waste of casting time) but beyond that, I wouldn't go out of your way to use it.

Gotcha. This is pretty much exactly what I felt the case was. Thx.
