Critical hits only add 25% extra damage to weapon attacks in this game (they don't trigger at all with spells unless you use the Sorcerer's terrible divine ability) so giving yourself a slightly higher chance to land one just isn't going to make any consistently useful difference. Accuracy doesn't have any effect at all on multi-hit weapon skills which are the only attacks that would really benefit from added accuracy so your characters usually have 'enough' for their other attacks without any added investment.
But yeah, there hasn't been a study of actual effect-per-point in these stats that I'm aware of.
