Then go away?

Perhaps some day a calm like-minded person will appear in this thread, and I wouldn't want to miss that : ) Besides, sticking around and observing the behaviour of a community's followers can be a good thing. Call it reconnaissance if you will. Some communities are toxic and some good

Personally, I'll just let people like and dislike something for whatever reason they want.
It's not my problem, nor does it affect my quality of life. There's no need for me to
enter a millennium-long argue in a sentimental attempt at changing their views.
They have the human right to disagree with me, it's not criminal for them to disagree with me.
And......well, that's where it ends : )
Dood_Sanshiro 22/abr./2019 às 13:50
I didn't mean to start an argument, but for me the switch version had horrible framerate drops that not only caused me eye strain, but also just plain pulled me out of the experience. And yeah, a 30 fps lock also causes eye strain and headaches for me.
yeah 2d sprites moving with turnbased combat in 120 fps is really gonna make a diffrence- you are right! maybe if persona 5 use 120 fps we can finally enjoy the game as well.

I've been playing jRPGs since the 80s - and if my name isn't a dead giveaway for my favourite games, then there's nothing left to tell you. My favourite games are mostly classic SNES jRPGs; all of which are 60fps (50fps in PAL regions). The fact remains, for some of us, smoother framerate is a huge deal, it improves enjoyment of an already good game and hurts nobody, except people like you that - for reasons I cannot fathom - can't stop themselves from criticising others for asking for an improved experience.

If you're fine with low framerate, good for you, look at people's requests for higher framerates as silly and just walk away. Leave the rest of us alone instead of feeling the need to vomit your unwanted opinions and beliefs in our faces. The fact that you can't speaks more to you than to us, or the game, and spewing nonsense rhetoric about "XX genre doesn't need XX" just makes you look insufferable and irritating.

you play a jrpg for the story, characters and the turn based combat, thats all.

Nobody disagreed. The fact is; you're given a choice between a juddery 30fps with great story, characters, and combat .... or silky 60/120/etc fps with great story, characters, and combat.

Which one would you choose? Never mind, it's rhetorical, I don't care about your answer. All you had to do was walk away and not get involved, but you couldn't. You just couldn't pass up a chance to denigrate everyone who doesn't accept what you accept.

if you dont agree with me, please tell me your top 10 jrpg´s and we can see if you really play jrpgs or not.

oh yay, a Richard-swinging contest to see if those of us hoping for an unlocked framerate are "worthy enough" of your acceptance that we enjoy a genre you stipulate we can only enjoy if you allow us. Okay, I'll oblige.

Alundra = 60fps Anachronox = 60fps Breath of Fire 3 = 60fps Chrono Trigger = 60fps Cosmic Star Heroine = 60fps Dragon Quest XI = 60fps (*snicker* when the engine doesn't crap itself and die) Final Fantasy Mystic Quest = 60fps Final Fantasy VI = 60fps Final Fantasy VII = 30fps Final Fantasy VIII = 30fps Final Fantasy X = 30fps Front Mission 3 / 4 = 60fps Grandia II = 60fps Legend of Dragoon = 30fps Live-a-Live = 60fps Lost Odyssey = 30fps Lufa 1 / 2 = 60fps Secret of Mana 2 = 60fps Secret of Mana = 60fps Shadows of Adam = 60fps Skies of Arcadia = 30fps Suikoden = 60fps Super Mario RPG = 60fps Tales of Symphonia = 60fps Tales of Zestiria = 60fps (requires unofficial patch) Tales of Berseria = 60fps Soul Blazer = 60fps Illusion of Gaia = 60fps Terranigma = 50fps (60fps with NTSC patch) Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky = 60fps Valkyrie Profile = 60fps Warsong/Langrisser = 30fps Wild ARMS = 60fps world, 30fps combat Wild ARMS Alter Code F = 60fps Ys IV: Memories of Celceta = 60fps Ys Seven = 60fps Ys VIII = 60fps

Weee! Am I allowed to enjoy jRPGs now? Or do I still need your approval? Oh and these are just jRPG-style titles... let alone aRPGs and cRPGs that I've been playing for 3 decades. Should I include those too?

I'm clearly talking about turn based jrpgs, no ♥♥♥♥ you like tales of symphonia in 60 fps over 30 (its 30 on the ps3) when its basically a 2d fighter- whats next, you like CSGO in 144 fps as well and think I´m fine with 30fps? And most of these old 2D games you wouldnt noticed the diffrence hardly anyway, they are just locked at whatever the tv could support- you arnt gonna enjoy CT much more in 60 fps then 30fps. Speaking of which, EU/PAL had 50 hz for decades, meaning no one in europe ever played those classic JRPGS in 60 fps, in other words 20% less game speed- guess what? nobody cared. It was fine. Yes playing Final Fantasy 6 in 50fps instead of 60 on the SNES wasnt a big deal.

im all for unlimited fps, but if its locked at 30 fps for a jrpg turnbased- the only people who is freaking out, are the people who wants to freak out because they are those kind of people.

Yes, you wont play "better" or feel the smoothness in a turnbased jrpg when playing in 30,60 or 144 fps. its a text menu system. So keep pretending that 144 fps when moving a d-pad in text based battlesystem is changing the world, it isnt.

But to make you guys 100% sure, AGAIN, I´m all for unlimited framerate, go ahead developers, give people the options. If you however release a JRPG (which for ex IGN gav 9.3) is still locked at 30 fps- it wont stop real JRPG fans from getting the game.
You would have to be... well never mind, I dont wanna trigger anyone again.

Quezkatolin, stop acting like you are in a constant battle screen in this game. Stop telling me that in the overworld, in towns, dungeons etc. That I wouldn't have a reason to want higher framerates.

I genuinely think you're wasting your time at this point, it's clear (s)he is just trolling for reactions.. something I'm ashamed to say I provided by falling for the bait. It's clear to everyone else that perceived smoothness of motion has nothing to do with "playing the game better" and is purely for comfort and less eye-strain .. so meh. Either SE will unlock it, or mods will, or nothing will and we'll just have to DWI - but I'm done feeding :)

who said you wouldnt, im talking about anyone refusing to buy a jrpg because its locked in 30 fps. they are playing the wrong genre then.

Also, we had FF6 in our home, have no idea now if it was a "fixed" SNES or an american one (I have older siblings) - I def know I had a japanese adapter for my genesis (called mega drive here) becuase I could play japanese sonic 2 on it (my dad imported it, friend with a person living in tokyo back in the 80´s).
And since our pal/tv was 50 hz, no way was it playing 60 fps. ofc looking back at it now I cant be sure about tv either tbh since I was 7 or so.

I started gaming already on the NES, so yes, I played many many games- but I always assumed FF6 came to EU since we had it (ofc I was a kid back then), but have to ask my brother or sister about that now.

Would be hilarious if its locked 30 fps to see all these dummies boycot a game for 30 fps turn based.
Because we know how horrible persona 5 is on the ps4!

thats my whole point, like with persona 5- ofc im all for unlimited framerate and ofc you can feel a diffrence with 30 fps and 144 fps/hz nver claimed otherwise.
but there is no boycot of persona 5 or massive anger because of 30 fps lock- why? because turnbased text combat works great in 30 fps (YES I SAID GREAT).

The difference is Persona 5 actually maintains 30 fps. Considering this one's graphics, it has absolutely no right to drop frames at any given time. But it does. A LOT.

Also: While I played the hell out of Persona 5, I would have enjoyed it even more at 60 fps.

Sadly I'm willing to bet that it's down to the engine.. UE4 just isn't a great engine, it's surprisingly taxing and in unskilled hands can result in terrible performance, especially on such incredibly low-end hardware like the Switch (which is just a quad-core ARM Cortex processor and an equivalent of a GeForce 830M... disappointingly low end stuff)

It's absolutely possible too, if you have a great-spec PC ;) One of the amazing benefits to emulation is the additional tweaks/hacks you can do -- for instance, the PSP version of "Final Fantasy Type-0" has a flawless 60fps mod, it's just a shame the PC version of the same game is capped at 30 and feels mighty unpleasant with it :(

Any way... Persona 5, PS3, 60fps -- if your system can handle it. Performance will improve as the emulator matures as well ;)

Glorious!

I wonder what resident trollbag will say about this? "Persona 5 doesn't need 60fps!" xD
