Game doesn't save anything.
The game isn't saving the resolution changes I make when I quit out of the game, also, saving in the game doesn't record either. If I quit out of the game, and reopen it, no saves are kept. Has anyone else had issues like this?

I have not, but you could check your install folders administration permissions.

Check your antivirus settings. Whatever antivirus program you have is preventing the game from making changes to files. I had to list the game as a trusted program and allow it to modify files. This happens with a lot of games that are console ports.

I expereienced the same issue. Played for like 3 hours last night. Came back today and my save was gone.

I just had the same issue. Played for about two hours. The game even says I saved in multiple different slots during that two hours. Then I went to reload because I made a mistake. Boom all that progress gone. Hoping that antivirus settings is the problem. Otherwise I will be mad haha.

It’s really weird that I have other save slots from earlier sessions. And I had no issue with this early on. Now all of the sudden it’s a problem.

Hey, I'm currently having the same problem, I was 11 hours in and I saved many times, yet the only two save files I have are from 2 hours in. Did you happen to find a fix? I don't have an antivirius so windows defender shouldn't be the problem.
If you're using Windows 10, you have to make sure you allow the game to 'have access'. Go to Windows Security, and then click on Virus & threat protection, next under the Virus & threat protection you should click manage setting, Scroll down to Controlled Folder Access and click on "Manage controlled folder access". Click Allow an App through Controlled folder access. Click Yes. Click "+add an allowed app". Select 'recently blocked' and find the exe in the list. That worked for me.

I got this problem too, but none of the above helps...
Not "antivirus settings" nor "Virus & threat protection".
It just doesn't work. I've tried for hours. I'm so desperate.
I guess it's something to do with the brilliant Win 10 updates, not sure.

Just happened to me, my saves were replaced with older and long time overwritten ones, lost about 10 hours of saved games.
Steam updated before tough, is it related?

This was still required for me five years later, too. I wish I hadn't grinded a 10-hour save to find out.
