Trailer vs reality
Watched the trailer and it looks epic, tanks storming at full speed in formation across open countryside, magnificent. Then I watched some gameplay footage and it's nothing like that at all, small units all fairly static, not dynamic in nature or anywhere near epic in scale, very underwhelming in fact. OK, sure, the maps are bigger than the last game but the gameplay is not on the epic 'realistic' scale the trailers suggest.

Here's some gameplay footage from a similar game (mius front), notice how this 'actual gameplay footage' looks even more epic than even the faked SD2 trailers.

Why do they do that? It's so dishonest and insults our intelligence. :steamfacepalm:

Don't be absurd, it looks terrible when you zoom in, tank guns are hexagonal for a start.

I would not compare Graviteam Tactics and SD2 to be fair.

Yeah and once there is more than 1v1 it could help, seen a lot of units clumped up in the larger match ups from the first game

Why not.

>Both have turn based strategic mode and real time tactical battles
>Both are set on the Eastern front during WW2
>Both claim to bring historical realism and accuracy

Of course they are not identical games but they share many key elements.

Please link any footage of this game that looks anything like that ^^. Better yet forget that, just show me any SD2 gameplay footage at all that looks like the trailers on store page, then I accept defeat.

If you zoom out same distance form GTMF it will look " fairly static, not dynamic in nature or anywhere near epic in scale" too I bet.

SD2 displays larger scaled fights and the game look much more dynamic if zoomed in.

Forget graviteam, I only use it to make the point that some games in this 'genre' are actually epic while others claim to be epic but aren't.

So I'm not saying SD2 should be like mius front, I am saying SD2 should be like SD2 trailers.

what is this about hexagonal guns and other graphical complains that other people have? my game looks exactly as potrayed in the trailer and gameplay video. it looks even better then i expected. are some people still running graphic drivers from multiple years ago or something?

I don't think the maps in SD2 are bigger than graviteam, also I doubt they have more units in play. I could be wrong but i played graviteam battles with 10 reinforced companies in the field (3-4,000 men and machines), operational maps vary from 50 sq KM to 180 sq KM and the tactical battlefields are 9 sq KM.
