Is there a way to enjoy the game without VR?

Absolutely, the game does not require VR at all. You can play Mandy's Room as-is with just a PC or Mac, mouse and keyboard. It is one of the few games built to be enjoyed with our without VR equipment.

Is there a way to customize the keyboard/mouse controls for the game? I understand there are interaction controls that require selecting different options for Mandy when she is interacting with Mr J. IE: Using the robot and having 3 different actions she can do with it. How do you select the action? What control commands do we use without VR? I dont find any instructions for this.

Hi LDWH1, for choosing the three actions, you need to listen to her voice prompts and nod or shake your head (move the mouse up and down or side to side). For example, she will say "should we try number 1?". You either nod "yes" or shake "no". If you say "no", she will say "how about number 2?" and so on. The original idea was that the entire game could be played with no hands in VR, one hand in non-VR. Just with nods and head shakes.

Since then we have added some controls for the VR controllers as requested, but nodding and shaking your head are still the only way to interact in the "3 option" scene. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for the response HFTGamer. I just posted a question about this on the other forum page I have been following for your game.

As for her voice prompts. I will try again but I don't seem to be getting any options from her for the third position. All I get are the options of the first and second then it stalls until I shake my head. I will come back and update you if it does offer the third position and update you.

Have you ever played a game like Mandy's Room in VR? Believe me, you would not want to play it on your desktop after that...

Just wanted to update you on the voice prompts for the 3 machine actions. It took a little longer waiting to get to the point where she asked about the next one she wants to try. My oops was not realizing the interaction part. I was forgetting to shake my head "NO" to get the next prompt.

Once I fingered this out I was able to complete all 3 interactions and move on to the next scene.

I haven't played past that as yet but at least now I can.. LOL.

How do you mean? I found the camera quite versitile. Of course it is limited to what is the range of the robot you are playing as. I found that bumping the up/down/left/right while alternating with another key like the space bar it resets and allows you to move more in the direction you want to go. I have moved the camera all over the game map from any number of angles including up VERY close.. The same works for Mandy's Room 2..

But great game. The animations and models are very well done..

I hope in MR3 we will have a much bigger enviroment and maybe as a Mr J we are upgraden to a fully functional robot (male or female) and do grossaries
