+1
they did they just didn't give you access to it
They are big WH40K fans (if you couldn't tell by the game itself) and got a WH40K license to make an actual WH40K (or rather, "Space Hulk") game. They did follow the money & their favourite universe. Space Hulk was good enough to land them another licensed contract.

And as Necromunda Hired Gun was also pretty good (better than Space Hulk) it'll probably be a while before we'll see any Streum On's originals. Because easy money.

Easy as in it's better if someone is forking out money for your title, not you yourself.
They are Focus' WH40K mules now. It won't change for a while, given SM2 success.
And it's better than silently getting off the stage. You can tell they love WH40K and do it justice, so hey... more power (& success) to them. We get great games that way too.

Although yes. Not only would I love to see EYE 2, hell, I'd love to help them design it.

Honestly if they just updated the original with more story content I'd be happy, E.Y.E. is one of my favorite fictional universes yet we know so little about it.
It looks to me like they're chasing trends instead of just making the best thing they can make. I guess I can't blame them -- they probably have families to feed and want to make bank with a big hit.

I think you've missed their obvious influences and sympathies. They LOVE Warhammer 40K.

Games Workshop won't let them out of the contract.
