Forbidden Love Quest Broken?

I'm attempting to do the Forbidden Love sidequest in Bywater, but when the quest giver hands me the letter it disappears. I can hold it and read it but if I try to put it in my backpack it just says 'stored', but then when I go to deliver it the other guy asks for the letter and I have no way to give it to him.

Is this quest broken?

It's in your journal, last page, under letters. Grab it there. I restarted that mission thinking it was bugged then realised.

Thanks, that was it. Didn't even realize you could use the objects in those tabs.
