Crash on Start

Hi, my game crashed on Startup, a window with the UE4 Engine popped up, is there a fix for this problem?

Hey there, could I please get your headset model, system specifications, and the outcome of dxdiag if possible?

When you say crashing on startup, does any part of the game open up before crashing, even just the main menu?

I use the Valve Index,and when I start the game, the screen briefly goes black and ends in the crash report.

I'm just downloading the game again, maybe it will work then.

Downloaded the game again, no change.

Hey there, thank you for the extra information, I've pass this issue to the devs and that will help them diagnose the issue faster.

In the meantime, I'd recommend making sure your drivers and headset/controllers/basestations are fully up-to-date, and trying to launch again after the upcoming hotfix.

Also having the same problem.

Using Valve Index and Controllers. All devices up-to-date as well as my video drivers.

Other users have found that Error 203 might be fixed by going to "VR Developer Settings", "Remove all USB devices", and then removing/reinserting the headset, however this only worked until the next restart.

For both issues, these are known and the devs are looking into them, however I'm afraid I don't have any further suggestions at this time. We'll try to get these sorted as soon as we can!

I get the same thing, idk what to do. It's pretty expensive for a game I can't even open..

Strangely, before I went to work this morning, I started the game and it was running. Now after work I start it again and I have the error again.

Was there any change in how you launched the game, or any different programs running in the background, or anything else that might help explain why it worked for a while?

i think i found the problem. A program called V-Dashboard was running in the background. When I finished that I was able to play the game without crashing.
