Can we disable gore if we want?
Yeah, I know right... I'm not preaching china censoring. I'm just curious if it's possible to tune down the gore for us faint-hearted players who still want to enjoy this amazing looking game. Now, I understand if someone think I shouldn't bother playing it then, but I'm sure I'm not alone by not being ready for this amount of gore in VR(!) - also this potentially being my first VR-experience: It might get too visceral! So an option for green blood, or puffs of smoke instead of blood and guts initially for me, thank you! ;)

This thread had me in stitches. There is no option to turn off the gore. And, it's pretty gross, so, if you're sensitive, might not be a good fit for you. But, I think you're brave enough! Do it!

doubt it bud. all walking dead shows, shorts, games, comics and other related paraphernalia are all consistent in their depiction or extent of graphic violence. might wanna look elsewhere because devs adapting this specific franchise will not abide or conform to your own personal limitations :lunar2019piginablanket: maybe plants vs. zombies would more ur thing?

I mean, a big part of the gameplay seems to involve jabbing sharp objects into the heads of walking rotting corpses and at times having to pull out said sharp objects when they get stuck in their heads. If you're faint hearted would toning down the gore really help that much?

If you can't handle some blood splatter, then I don't think you'll be able to handle ramming a screwdriver into a zombie's head, who has half his jaw hanging off. Or swinging an axe to sever his head from his neck.

lol, what would rubbing guts on yourself look like if you were able to disable gore?

Probably not a good 'My first VR experience' type of game.

The more gore, the better to wash my hair.

Do not play this as your first VR game. You really need to get some time in vr before you hop into a game this intense. You will have the headset off before you leave the tutorial if you do this game before any other. Don't underestimate how real stuff is in VR.

Thanks for the answers :steamhappy: :steamsalty: This is what it is, I know. I was just curious if having an on/off for blood and such has been a thought at all. I'm not expecting that of course. Yeah, I guess this will remain a thought experiment - what would the game be without the element of gore? The mechanics, weapon handling and such look absolutely amazing, so there's that apart from the slashing and splattering. :steamhappy:

Right right, interesting. How was your first VR experience and what led you to you feel comfortable (or did you feel comfortable right from the start)?

Actually, while I would say I've not had a first real VR experience, I once tried Oculus Rift but it was just an art gallery and music experience of sorts: but I was totally sucked in, it was crazy, a fascinating shift in my perception and experience - so I probably can't even remotely imagine how a (horror!) game would feel like!

I don't see why not, disabling blood at least with an option setting. It kinda defeats the purpose of the VR experience however. Perhaps if you are 10 years old and your parent suddenly wants to play, you could turn it off for them?

This was funny, why turn off gore on a game which gore is the best part.
