Explain Medicine to me?
Bottle says it increases max HP by +25? So should I be downing every Medicine I find for super huge health bar? Or does it only restore HP that is missing. My Stam/HP bars don't show numbers - it's hard to guess the "optimal" time I should take Medicine or use a Bandage.

I understand Medicine helps with "sickness" but I just don't understand the +25 Max HP description.

If you have eaten rotten food and have lets say.... -30 sickness... leaving you with 70 max HP, medicine would put your max hp to 95. Capping at 100. You then have to bandage to actually regain the HP.

The small, vertical white line is a max health indicator. In an ideal world that white line is all the way to the right (take medicine) and then bandage yourself - which moves the yellow/white bar toward the vertical white line.

Medicine - moves your max health limit to the right.

Bandages - fills the actual health bar to the right.

there are foods that increase your max health, but i think its only gumbo. other than that its all restorative. like the herbal meds and the pills

Yes gumbo is the only food to increase Max health as well as stamina. I suggest taking at least one gumbo with you when possible because of the rarity of meds later in the days.

Honestly just get used to having half hp. Those poison zombies knock you down so fast unless you have a ranged weapon and there's not enough medicine to compensate. It's just not worth the trouble.
