Blue Mansion Attic Key

Greetings.

I'm enjoying this game so far (for the most part) but have encountered my first real issue. The key to the attic disappeared from my backpack's quest item slots. After some searching for solutions I decided to just start from my first save as people were saying there is an important recipe to be gained.

I got the key again in my second run and started for the Blue Mansion. My backpack became full so I returned to the bus. Lo and behold, the key was gone. I hadn't dropped it as this time, when she gave it to me, I checked the backpack.

So this has to be a bug.

Is there any other way around this besides loading and earlier save and doing it in the first run?

Seems it's by design. You have to complete the task before moving on. Once the bells hit or you leave the area everything to do with that task is nuked. That's all NPCs, items etc

That`s good to know, I have only just started this game.

I think you should focus on secondary stuff first, as you can repeat the main quests (i think) by returning to the map if you run out of time.

Since I decided to go there on like, day 5, I started over and went and just shot her in the head after getting the key. Worked good lol.

Yikes, these truly are the end times. Do you get the code for the safe then?

Not sure if it will help anyone, I'm playing through this now - I thought I lost the key, but on your backpack, when you click the arrows to view the 3 sections of backpack, click the arrow AGAIN after section 3, and it will show you the purple Quest Items (or whatever they're called) section of the backpack, they key should show there if you got it from the lady.

Now, if the key still does not show there after you picked it up from the lady, then that's a bug, I guess reload a save.
