Not sure how I feel about a stamina system in a VR game...
I get why it's there, but for VR it just feels really weird to have that.

It's not like in pancake games when you just push a button and the character swings the weapon. It's YOU who are doing the swining in VR.

Anyone who has played Beat Saber for hours or Boneworks with melee only knows how exhausting VR can be, adding a fake exhaustion to a VR game just doesn't work well, it's another disconnect to the game.

And with that, I'm not interested in getting the game anymore. Stamina systems in VR is just awful.
Ruins it a bit but you can use CheatEngine or a trainer to disable the stamina system
It depends, do you want to be a superhero? Beatsaber is arcade driven and gives you that exact experience. Do you want to be exhausted without swinging a bat for 5 min straight? Saints and sinners will make you feel that you are not. Go outside and swing anything heavier than your diet coke and in short time you will be exhausted. Ever been in a fight? Good, it's bad. And exhausting. Why should a realistic game be based around reality, right?
I wanted to like it but have come to dislike how that all is done. I like a challenge but with the short time out of the base each day, durability issues, constant need of various foods to boost two stats which also drop another stat, walkers respawning so fast, etc its just started sucking the fun out of the game. Im all about missions and sneaking around but I think they have just done so much its really hurt the enjoyment of the game.
Yeah, i don't like the stamina either. Don't need it for VR games.

Your real stamina should be used. It makes the new wave mode much harder with the in game stamina
In the base game it was never that big an issue, enemies were spaced out enough to where it wasn't an issue. In this gauntlet mode that got added in, the stamina system has become more of an annoyance than anything else. Something funky is also going on with weapon sway now, I was playing yesterday and had no issues with pistol sway, today it was unruly and just became irritating to land shots, even with consistent pacing of your shots.
Yeah horde mode is crippled with stamina. It's a cheap mechanic that can be removed and replaced with more zombie spawns. The whole point of a VR game is that you can experience this sort of thing for real. Playing wireless roomscale and you gotta deal with virtual stamina, real stamina and plastic weapons. Unnecessary faffing that ultimately detracts from the gameplay.
But you are not using your real stamina?! You are not holding an axe, you are holding a light piece of plastic. It's not about what you are doing IRL, it's about what you are doing in the game. VR isn't magical and doesn't equip you.

And I'm not shooting a real machine gun in Onward...
All I want from a VR game is to be immersed with the world and have fun stabbing zombies in the head. I don't want to feel a disconnected from my character and me after a few stabs.

I get that I probably would be pretty tired after axing 5 zombies in a row with an axe I probably wouldn't be able to carry over my shoulders irl, but it's a GAME.

The weapon degradation works just fine as a mechanic to make sure you don't go full Rambo/Rick

Is it a game or do you want immersion? You can't have both. Trying to appease the realism of exhaustion is getting ♥♥♥♥ on but nobody cares about the fact that you are fighting with ♥♥♥♥ the real you probably couldn't lift for more than 5 minutes without collapsing.
I totally get the frustration and complaints here. However, I think one of the main reasons the devs implemented the stamina mechanic along with health management and along with a robust crafting system was to make the game that much more nuanced and challenging from a resource management perspective. It's the best VR game out there in this regard.

Do I drink this soda and get a stamina boost but take a health hit? What are the pros and cons? The risks? Should I start running around now like a mad man or save my max stamina for a bit later when I might really need it? Should I take out this enemy up close using stealth and a knife or a bullet from afar? This is kind of what makes the game amazing. If you're into speed running through a game, forget it.

They've made a deeper, more challenging game with the addition of stamina that obviously goes above and beyond your simple health upgrades in a game like HLA.

One could also argue that TWD might end up a little more boring if we didn't have this additional challenge of having to maintain both stamina and health.

I'm still working through the campaign, but I like having these additional things to think about and have to manage carefully.

The game really does require you be a thinker, in addition to being a bad-a$$ zombie killer.

Having said all that, I do think it makes sense that the devs build into the Menu an option that allows you to toggle the stamina feature on or off. I have no idea though if that would somehow break the game.

Now that you mention that, Why should a realistic VR game have zombies? Get rid of em.
