Its annoying.
Your real stamina should be used. It makes the new wave mode much harder with the in game stamina
And I'm not shooting a real machine gun in Onward...
All I want from a VR game is to be immersed with the world and have fun stabbing zombies in the head. I don't want to feel a disconnected from my character and me after a few stabs.
I get that I probably would be pretty tired after axing 5 zombies in a row with an axe I probably wouldn't be able to carry over my shoulders irl, but it's a GAME.
The weapon degradation works just fine as a mechanic to make sure you don't go full Rambo/Rick
Do I drink this soda and get a stamina boost but take a health hit? What are the pros and cons? The risks? Should I start running around now like a mad man or save my max stamina for a bit later when I might really need it? Should I take out this enemy up close using stealth and a knife or a bullet from afar? This is kind of what makes the game amazing. If you're into speed running through a game, forget it.
They've made a deeper, more challenging game with the addition of stamina that obviously goes above and beyond your simple health upgrades in a game like HLA.
One could also argue that TWD might end up a little more boring if we didn't have this additional challenge of having to maintain both stamina and health.
I'm still working through the campaign, but I like having these additional things to think about and have to manage carefully.
The game really does require you be a thinker, in addition to being a bad-a$$ zombie killer.
Having said all that, I do think it makes sense that the devs build into the Menu an option that allows you to toggle the stamina feature on or off. I have no idea though if that would somehow break the game.
