Free play / Sandbox mode?

How would you feel about a mode where you can go about, spawn in weapons, infinite health, stuff like that?

No.

Without the survival aspects this is just a mediocre action game. It would get boring extremely fast. The fun here is progressing and earning your way to the top while completing side quests.

I don't understand the opposition to an OPTIONAL mode like this. I'm hoping that now that the PSVR version is out, the devs will keep adding to the game on both platforms and giving the player modes and features like freeplay.

If they're going to spend the resources, then I'd much rather have something that ties back into the main game. Take command of your own NPC death squad that you can upgrade and issue orders to and send out to clear areas and/or bring back loot for you. Procedural quests that are made up on the fly like Skyrim. Things like that.

Just giving you unlimited ammo and letting you kill the zombies would get old after about 10 minutes.

I think that adding a free roam sandbox mode with infinite health or infinite durability for weapons would be amazing.

Cheats are a must for ALL video games. I am actually looking forward to playing this game more. It was very boring but with cheat I can play like I would in real life this is amazing.

as long as it doesnt take up too much development time that could be spent on other things. something basic, like a weapon spawner, being able to set what day it is, spawning more zombies and unlimited health and stamina. all those options would be in a separate gamemode, of course and all the options would be optional. maybe you also have to reach a big milestone in the main game to unlock more stuff for the mode?

I believe a separate sandbox mode in the place copying garrys mod ethics would make them more money personally and make the game a lot more played by people who enjoy sandbox games like gmod and people playground or something like that, it would probably be a good addition if added and wouldn't be hated, it would just be maybe glossed over compared to the original game, it would be good for something to do other than the trial if you had this added, to be honest.

Tbh it would be fun to have a sandbox version of the game, like a completely different mode overall, the mechanics for the game are extremely addicting so having a mode where let's say hypothetically you could spawn in hords of zombies and see how long you can survive with different weapons that you've spawned in would be cool
