hmd reset on HTC Vive

So i just started the game and the first thing that i saw on the main menu was that i have to reset the hmd or something, what does this mean and why do i have to do that? this is the first vr game that tells me to do that.

It means resetting your height. So you stand up straight and press the two menu buttons to adjust your in game character to your own height

Sorry but by "menu button" you mean the home button that lets you exit the game right? i kept holding them for like 15 seconds and nothing happened. Now i'm just stuck at the hmd menu and can't play the game.

This is what I found on Hmd reset about the game:

"Use HMD Reset at any time to reset your current play stance for Sitting or Standing Play. You can find HMD Reset in the Controller Map for your HMD device.
If your height ever feels off, use HMD Reset to correct it."

What controllers are you using? For Vive wands 'Home button' and 'menu button' are seperate terms. The home button is usually the one that opens your steamVR dashboard, while the menu buttons just brings up the in game menu

Yeah except teh game doesn't load afterward. No menu appears. Its just stuck in HMD reset message

Same problem, keeps telling to press the steam dashboard button. Well stuck.

it's like he sees some of his controllers, not my controller. Yeah, the same thing, even after "centering" on oculus quest 3 he continues to show me non-existent buttons

Just bought it and seat and read this topic instead of playing with my Quest 3. I saw this bug was reported in 2020 and still isn't fixed. Are you serious?
