Game needs more checkpoints
Getting really sick of redoing the same sequences all over again. Add more checkpoints after certain conversations. I never opt to "continue" when you die as you generally died in an unfavourable spot. So why the hell would you want to spawn back in at the beginning with nothing to try and recover your stuff when you'll most likely die again and lose it forever because you have nothing to defend yourself with. Its stupid.

Please add more checkpoints so you can just continue from an earlier part of where you were. It makes the game play really tedious having to do run back to where you were.

That would make the game incredibly boring. Trying to get your pack back is half the fun (and you still keep what was in your holsters and on your back. That’s enough to help you get it back.

The games saves every time you travel or sleep. That’s more than enough.

I disagree. Its not fun trying to get it back. Because when you get to where ever it is that you're recovering it from you have to deal with the threat that killed you in the first place. Let alone not having anything to fight off whatever there is in the way of getting it back. Having to all that again is incredibly boring and repetitive.

Also the game is ridiculously ambiguous as to its objectives. The book is really terrible at telling you what you actually need to do. (mainly where to go) I've found myself googling the objective because i have no idea where its telling me to go. "Go to the church". Oh alright mate, wheres that then? No ones made no mention of a church up till this point. Where is it then? is it on this section? Do i have to go to the boat and go somewhere? Where are you asking me to go? Unless i'm missing something, its annoyingly cryptic.

I think this is less a matter of bad mechanics and more of an issue of expectations on your part, rH. The game is intentionally vague because its trying for a more immersive experience. And that comes with some frustrating shortcomings in what and how much the game feeds you in terms of information.

Just reload your last checkpoint instead of going back if you don't want to deal with it and approach the situation more carefully worst come to worst. Just be a little more careful and don't take risks you can't handle. Are you bringing medicine food and bandages with you? Upgrade your Gear Station to get the protective gear also.

As for the church, I'm pretty sure it is mentioned but not exactly necessary anyways: did you explore the entire area surrounding the bus? There are drawings of a church in chalk all over the place on the floor and walls of the graveyard, literally pointing you in the direction of the church. It's kind of hard to miss..

Also, small detail that can be missed: you can see the cross on the top of the church in the distance when standing next to the radio if you look carefully over the graveyard.

Yeah it does, I totally agree.
Now if things go badly I just start sprinting around the area to quickly search an area before I die and reload. Being vague on the map or description could be forgiven if the game's levels made up for it.

I think a lot of these new developers come straight from consoles, so they don't know yet that on PC's you can save games anytime, anywhere. They will catch on in time.

Wut? There's been auto-saving on consoles forever. You do realize it's a design choice right?

It's auto saving in this game so what's your point? Are you just trolling me hard?

As in they save every 30 seconds or so, or even manually. I'm pretty sure you're trolling since you apparently don't know any of this :steambored:

I find it annoying when you get that message when exiting the game "Are you sure you want to leave the game? All game unsaved game play will be lost"
Like it's our effin fault the game has no proper save game function.
