Stuck on first radio tuning quest

the very first quest after you repair the radio there is a note about finding some journal about how to contact the national guard, but there is no journal anymore (I saw it when I first entered the area before completing the quest. Not there now.)

I looked up on some other threads to tune to frequency 61 but that also does nothing. Tuned to every other frequency too and only got the guy who rants on about Mama.

I have literally no idea how to progress the story. There's no book, the radio does nothing.

have tried everything i can think of and looked everywhere for an item or something, but there's nothing.

If you picked the book up the sheet with the channel numbers should be in your journal.

yep. that's there.

working the radio does nothing though. The radio is repaired, i've already done that. It's just not possible to get any quest to advance using it.

What does your quest log say? Basically when you repair the radio you already have the journal and can contact channel 61. Maybe you are already on the next part of the quest. Leave it on 61, try sleeping and maybe he'll contact you when you wake up. Worst comes to worst, reload your last save, which it's when you came back. It saves after every loading screen after you travel, so it should be minutes before that when you came back with the parts.

The quest log says to find the book (which I have already found, long before I repaired the radio), so there is no book to find.

Whats the name of the quest in your log? I checked the lists real quick in a video. Once you find the journal, it's supposed to change to "Repair the Radio" where the tasks are to install the battery and antenna and then find the microphone, then it should change to "Make Contact". I'm confused as to how of you were able to do that one if you're still stuck on the prior quest.

To be honest at this point in might be easier to just restart the game. You really aren't that far, should take like half an hour tops. Just sprint to the bus, pick up the gear, go to the shallows, into the Mansion, get the mic, back to the radio and you're good to go.

Okay, I just got home and was misremembering the name of the quests; ithe stage I'm on is "Make contact" but the quest text does state to use the guard book for clues on how to contact the guard

at any rate leaving the station at channel 61 doesn't seem to be doing anything. It's been there for days (i'm on day 4 already)

Check your journal and the documents page. You can remove the page from your journal to inspect it again, maybe that'll trigger it.

Check your journal and the documents page. You can remove the page from your journal to inspect it again, maybe that'll do it.

yes that did seem to do it, thank you!

It did it in a sneaky way - once I picked the document up and put it back it finally unlocked the next step. I haven't made any contact yet but the quest is at least moving along now

You have to physically rotate the antennae to get a stronger signal, if that's a stumbling block.

yeah that was a second stumbling block too, but one i resolved a bit faster
