Walker doors get me every time :P
I really like this element of the walkers busting down doors for a quick spook. I have seen posts on here with people hating on it because it's a cheap, quick scare (which it is xD) but that's not a bad thing. It keeps us on our toes, and reminds that nowhere is ever completely safe. I approve!

my only problem with it is how buggy it is, a bunch of times it's happened, there's 2 zombies behind the door clipping through each other (i've seen 3 or 4 stacked like this behind a door at one point). and another time, a zombie busted down a door that was boarded up on the other side (to stop you from open the door on the one side) except the zombie was on the side with the boards, and the door blew up, and he just walked through the boards like they weren't there, also granting me quick access to the room without having to go around.

disagree. there should be an option for that. It's cheap and dumb and especially not the right genre. doors exploding like that because of physically weak walkers is paranormal.

agree with this comment, walkers dont have enough strenght to blow a door that way, c'mon, they dont resist when you grab them by the head but they can destroy door, dont like this nonsense.

Meh it loses its novelty after a few times, but I enjoyed the jumps while it lasted. If you listen carefully, you can hear them right behind the door and you can be ready for it, if they trigger the explosion at all. And zombies breaking through doors or jump scares aren't in the right genre? plz... I guess you could make the argument that they are too weak, but it's called suspension of disbelief. Maybe they really f**king hate doors and get a zombie adrenaline rush.

If you already have explosive arrows they work great on doors

Zombies would be incredible strong - they use 100% of their physical capabilities for everything they do, without getting tired, injured or held back by fear of those things.

They could certainly batter their way through a door quite quickly, though the damage to their muscles and the broken bones would make those at the front much less dangerous.

It's dumb that they become so passive when you grab their head, but it works from a gameplay perspective, same as the doors exploding, rather than being smashed off its hinges.

What you said.

yea if you call me a coward, you're propably right. I played many horrors(not in VR tho), but those exploding doors are pain in the ass.
It is already enough for me to deal with the darkness+zombies inside buildings (which is another topic for itself, having only one meager light source available, just cheap).

Most of the time I know that its gonna explode but its still gay. I know, I'm complaining of fear in a horror. Still.

Its propably made that way, that you can grab their heads and they turn passive, so you are actually able to play the game. but then why giving them the ability to just one finger punch a door into pieces? Maybe its the weakness of the series as a whole: never having consistent rules for zombies.

It's probably a "bug", which was knowingly overlooked cuz horror. they we're propably just to lazy to make a split models of the doors, so zombies can smash doors part by part in. Nope. just let it /kill the door.

Actually, (I know I’m a little late but still) it’s incredibly unrealistic due to two major reasons. Before we get into that there are a few fair assumptions that need to be made: 1, walkers are inhabited by a fungi that takes control of the body much like the fungi that can take control of ant corpses, and 2, walkers inflict a fatal illness caused by exchange of liquids that cause people that get bitten to die and become walkers (I know this doesn’t really account for scratches but the game doesn’t seem to use that).

With these in mind, we can finally address the problems. The first problem is that obviously the human body would undo decay, especially in muscles, because as it is a walker, they are walking corpses who’s cells have presumably all died. However, let’s say the body is fresh and hasn’t started decaying. This is where the second problem occurs, ATP deprivation. if you don’t know what ATP is I’ll explain it briefly: think of it as the quarter for the gum-ball machine that is the human body; it’s needed for every function. But let’s not focus on every function let’s focus on specifically muscle cells. At the smallest level muscle cells contract via actin and myosin. What makes the myosin head activate and “press down upon and pull” actin? ATP. ATP is only made in living organism. So no walkers shouldn’t be able to break down doors because they shouldn’t be able to stand up.

Sorry for the rant but in conclusion, I think walker doors are super dumb but after more than a year of them being in the game I can’t see them being removed any time soon. Also, I think they fact that walkers are kinda pathetic by themselves and don’t do anything when you grab their heads is exactly how it should be due to the realism aspects I mentioned previously (I know I said they shouldn't be able to stand up but nobody would want to play like that game don’t lie) and the gameplay as a whole.
