Pain In mg leg and lowe back after 30-4i0 min of play... Anyone suffering like me?
I'm new to VR and kinda in a good health im 23 years old :D..
But playing for like 30-40 minutes making me 93 year old man...

Anyone suffering like me?

I think the issue is that you are standing still in the same position for llike 30-40 min without moving your legs giving me leg pain and lowe back pain :(

Can i fix this? :D

I strongly doubt that it's related to you standing still (just think of a clerks standing still for 9 hours straight). Instead, I find it more likely that it's associated to your posture, i.e., you are not straightened proper when gaming VR, which activates muscle groups not commonly put to the test. Have a go at Pistol Whip. That'll teach your body that there are other postures than straight :) Your ass, and upper back thighs, will be rock solid hard within a week.

EDIT: Don't use snap turn. Instead, rotate with your legs.

Your telling me i'm working out? :DD
The pain i got is like i've been skipping leg and back day in the gym for 10 years.

DAM VR is good for the body!

I've been using vr for 6 months and suffered from bad back ache on games when i stand still for long periods, i don't experience it as bad now i'm adapting to vr.

One little tip i can give is when you are moving in game (either walking or running) try swinging arms a little in a motion you would do whilst irl moving and i even step or jog on the spot as my character in game moves. I find it makes you feel a little less rigid especially when playing a game like this one where there can be "tense" situations a lot during play. You don't have to do it for all the time while playing i just do that every now and then, stops me from setting in place for too long and can loosen you up a little. Hope it helps.

if you got pain for so little play time. you dont sound so healthy

My tips:

Pre-exercise. Do a little exercise before starting. Just a little. A sit up or two, bend the feet, twist your body for 10 seconds or so (probably even more useful for the older chaps). I myself like to do a few situps and pressups with a body twist before I start on a long VR session.

1. Don`t just stand there stock still for hours. This is bad for you. MOVE your body...
2. Bend your legs every now and then (crouching for real helps).
3. Move your head all about every now and then.
4. Exercise your arms every now and then.
5. Try `walking on the spot` when you walk in game, lifting the soles of your feet a little. this will take the strain off your soles of your feet.

6.Additional (advance tips perhaps). I like to keep a flask of water with a special nozzle on my shoulder, so I can keep myself hydrated with water (or some other drink) while playing the game. It lets me drink without spilling water on the HMD. It`s actually very immersive.

All this is especially useful for really big VR games like FO4VR.

Stig is right: In VR you are exercising; it`s a good thing to do. Not only do you enjoy a great game; you`re getting healthier too!

Y`know, someone should bring out a "VR prepping for healhy play" manual in VR. I`ve noticed a lot of VR users are terrible in preparing themselves for many hours of VR gaming and physically hurt themselves.

Yup, same here. Posture not the best, but you must remember to move those legs, move and loosen those knees a bit to get the blood flowing. If your legs are straight most of the time you are going to have leg pain and lower back pain. Especially if your posture is like mine and your center of gravity is not what it's suppose to be. The pressure you put on your knees is much more.

Gravity exists and people take the little things they do each day for granted. Like putting your hands on the table or a chair for a minute which helps you rest and recover a bit.
Also the source of a few funny youtube videos.

Oh yeah, one more thing. PAy attention when you pick something up in game or open a cupboard. Are you bending your knees and keeping your back straight?

Another bit of advice is when you can get a chance to sit- sit. Although this works best for games that let you sit in a chair ingame, then you can sit on a real stool you have nearby. I tend to sit when in the boat waiting for the game to load up to a new area. But you need to have a chair you know is nearby (a sitting stool on wheels without a back is best)... But you need to be aware of your play area... If you`re bad with your awareness it`s probably best not to bother with a chair while playing.

One of the things they taught us in the military when standing at attention is to ever slightly bend your knees so you're legs aren't locked. Otherwise you'll eventually pass right out. Like some others said here, rotate and make sure you're regularly bending your knees.

I FIXED the issue...

1. When i was playing i was standing on a solid floor.
To FIX this i put on a winter sock to soft the ground for me to support my foot.

2. I stopped to use snap turn in-game and starting to move my body 360c in-game this helps to get the blood rushing on my body.

3. When getting on ground in-game make sure you stand up correctly..
DO NOT use your back to lift your body up :D

4. Take a 4-5 minutes brake on a chair when you LOADING to areas and when you play every 15-20 minutes..

5. The PAIN so completely gone now!

SEE YOU OUT THERE SURVIVORS!

Keeping your feet wider apart than normal and having one foot slightly more further up than the other(Almost like a boxing stance but just your feet) should help too

talk to the docter man, that could be showing signs of a bigger problem. dont use forums as a doctor
Masamune27858 Feb 12, 2020 @ 9:58pm
i mean VR is not good for my body. i have leg swelling and ive gained weight lol. love VR, but health needs to come first and the doctor is the qualified one to give you that roadmap.
