I`ve seen this complaint a few times, but the SteamVR comes up for me as well as Oculus and then I can run the game. I don`t understand what the issue is.

Oh? I don`t use any extra thing on it. So SteamVR DOES come up, it`s just that you guys can`t use this extra toolkit thing. I think I see now.

yea bro you know how alot of games give you a choice on what vr system to run it on and i mean i know for a fact it can run off steam vr because certain headsets do it but with a rift s for some reason it force opens through oculus

idk tho iv tried running in in windows 7 cuz oculus doesnt work and it just wont open at all
Idk. Jan 28, 2020 @ 3:38am
From my knowledge, Rift S headset CANNOT run if oculus is not running, basicaly, the oculus activates the headset, even if you run trough steam VR, oculus always comes up cause otherwise the headset cannot run, therefor, you have NO chance to use the headset without oculus running, from my experience, i say again..

Hey there, unfortunately this is a limitation of the game at this time (and as far as I know, would require a large amount of time to change) - you simply cannot run the game through SteamVR using an Oculus headset, you must use the Oculus SDK.

Oculus SDK's minimum version if now Windows 10, so unfortunately running the game on Windows 7 will not work, it will likely crash on launch.

It can't work tried the DLL trick and you get a error message this one https://i.imgur.com/L4OxmQ9.png

So no it doesn't work. I am also not sure if they are working on making it work with steam VR using a oculus device. I hope so, seeing like others i like to use third party software while playing steamVR games.

i wonder if you can buy it on the oculus store then run it with REVIVE via steam VR ? :>
Usually you lose FPS, but it should work.!?!?!? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

That's too bad. I wanted to use Natural Locomotion with this.

Yeah, NaLo's such a game changer, that I just don't buy games that have smooth locomotion but NaLo won't work.

Hmm i wish i could change the "run" button through steamvr. I don`t really like this "press stick to do something". Sticks on my controllers already drift so i don`t want to make it any worse.

not sure what you mean. But you can now run the game with SteamVR with the latest patch on oculus hardware.
