Does noise attract walkers?
I've only been able to play for an hour or so thanks to work.
I haven't tested it out yet but is there anyone who's tried to see how much does loud noises attract walkers? Does it even work?
The way the gun shot is right now is it's way too quiet IMO.
I shot a shotgun indoors and expected to see more walkers heading towards my direction but found basically none.

Yes. It does. it`s not too bad when you first start, but after a little bit they start noticing any sound you make.
It`s true that guns are too quiet, but shotguns are loud and will attract nearby walkers

Up to what extent have you tried yet?
Best I got is when I fired the shotgun in the room with the pool table,(house where the turned husband is) two walkers went up the stairs after a few minutes.
I didn't find any walkers around the house when I left though.
I was expecting at least 2 to be attracted by the noise.
You think the walkers' sensitivity to sounds go up as days pass?

I was in plenty of firefights now, and the walkers increase and are attracted to your location. Even coughing gives your position away.

I suppose walkers do become more sensitive to sounds the longer you play the game.
Good to know this. I was initially worried that they're not.
I just hope they don't develop clairvoyance and all know where you are even if you're virtually not making any noise.

Yes, they get more sensitive. Like Peh says they`ll even hear you if you`re coughing at times. Just play, you`ll see.
I don`t think you`re going to like it too much though, cos things will start to get really hard and you`ll be wishing they can`t hear you!

It indeed will get harder. Stock up on medicine if you can unless you are able to craft it yourself.

The more you play, the harder it gets. More zombies, more alert, they see you from further away, etc.

They are very alert to sounds; I like to use bottles as weapons, and when I smash them to get it sharp, they turn around, haha. They also hear your watch when it beeps, which can happen at terrible times! =P

I never thought of that! Found a noise trap and will use it on a mission!

Is there any voice detection? Like if I talk or if there's background noise for my microphone, will they be attracted?

That's what I'm looking to do. I do this a lot in Days Gone for PS4. It's so much fun seeing a horde come down on an enemy camp.
The noise detection when things get harder sounds fine to me. It's the walker's vision that bothers me.
Based on what you guys say, it seems walkers get enhanced vision over time like they are on their way to become super walkers with all that heightened senses.

Yep, that's why you can hear your voice echoing when you talk. You can avoid that if background noise is an issue by just muting your microphone though. ;)
