Lost the key for room in blue house

So my first proper quest is to open a door in the blue house using a key I was given. Problem is I was killed on the way but had to quite the game, so couldn't get my backpack. Now I don't have the key and the lady that gave it to me is gone.

Any idea what I should do?

Load from a previous save. I would load the save from arriving on the boat just before you originally spoke to her. It keeps all your saves so it will be there.

I think the key will just respawn back in its original place where you first found it.

well , then load a previous save!, but the thing is: which key? The one that the girl gives u, to unlock the attic?

+1 yah , once i dropped, and was afraid of lose it. so i check all the place, and baaam magically, it was in the Purple Special Items area of the backpack!

or maybe is how a game works? you die...dont get your items back...so youll lost them and NPC is gone cause mission is failed or something like that? this game should be drive nby desicions so maybe its not a bug since you failed.....? srr for my bad eng

I killed her after she gave me the code for secret room in blue house!.. shame...she was so nice!

I thought so. You can`t lose special Quest items once you get it. I forgot.

on my first run i took a bit too much time and the bell started to ring and ran back to the boat. When i came back the girl was gone and the key too. Now im too far too load a previous save. Oh well...

If you die, the bells ring or you leave that area and come back the next day, you fail the quest permanently for that save file. If you want to complete that quest you'll need to restart the game or load a previous save. It's a stupid, foolish mechanic but it is what it is until they fix it.

The reward in the safe is a weapon and new recipe by the way. I won't spoil it for you, but I personally think it's worth going back for.

The code for that safe will drop in the house in that map on future visits. You don’t lose out on access to the safe,

I have the code to the safe but the skeleton key must have glitched out of my inventory or something because I already visited the lady and now it's gone. Also I am way to far ahead to reload a save so literally my only option at this point if I want the recipes achievement is to reload from the start.
