ANNO 1800 wont run in fullscreen??
I just purchased the complete package of ANNO 1800 on steam and it will not run in 4k fullscreen. I have tried "Windowed fullscreen", ALT=Tab'ing and even changing the forced resolution in the control panel. The game only runs in a small corner of the screen for some reason. Please help

I play on 2K resolution but if I enable Direct X12 it will never fullscreen. Dont got this issue on any other game and I can play any other game perfectly fine. I got a 4090 and a 7800X3D. I can play RE4 or Dead Space Remake perfectly fine and dont have this problem on any other game.

But hey...what to expect from a Ubisoft game. When will you guys care? You got talented developers but there is no care beyond your core content and it ruins it.

Sorry for reviving but the issue persists. Workaround like the 100 or 125% windows size doesn't work. I own the Ubisoft version.

Hey there,

We are sorry that you're having this issue on Anno 1800.

Could you please locate the Anno 1800 folder in your Document folder, save a backup and delete the one in Documents? After that, please start Ubisoft Connect as administrator and run the game.

Please let us know if the issue persists.

Thank you very much.

I found a workaround. The issue on my system was related to the display zoom in Windows. I usual run at 125% to make text easier to read. Setting the zoom to 100% before staring the game caused the game to now take up the full screen.

Same problem here, it fixed by setting it to fullscreen, dropping the resolution to a lower one, hit accept, then hit "reset" to go back to default. It only happened the first launch, now it launches in my native 1440p resolution.

FIXED HERE!
It was the same for me. The game was set to 3840x2160 and always started as 2560x1600, even after restarting it. What worked for me was to change Directx12 to Directx11. Now it is full screen.

Can confirm that something is weird with doing DirexctX12, I run a 3440 x 1440 monitor, when I launch with DrectX12 the graphic looks streached out and I see a my Windows menu bar at the bottom (cant interact with it). When I took a screenshot of it the screenshot had the resolution was 1920x1200 on the screenshot. Changing windows scaling does nothing, but changing it to DirectX11 solves it all.

Another wierd thing is in DirectX12 Steams screenshot saving did not react, but in DirectX11 it did.

This makes a lot of sense and was also the fix for me, thanks!

@ubi_tyheberry

Is there an actual fix for the issue? A workaround is excellent, but it seems the problem is with the DX12 API on 4k resolution.

Hi !

For the purpose of our investigation, in order to isolate the problem and take a closer look at the environment the game is running in, I invite you to reach out to us via our {LINK REMOVED}, in order to provide us with {LINK REMOVED} (DXDiag and MSInfo).

They contain detailed information on the displays, monitors, drivers, and all the elements that will help determine the best possible solution.

If you have questions, or if there's anything else we can help you with, feel free to let us know !

I did this in DirectX 11 (not sure if this matters) but after it went fullscreen at 4k, i switched it to DX12 and it still loads in fullscreen.
Hope this works for you guys.
Changing resolutions is the only thing that worked

Ubisoft version worked.
Steam version on a 4K screen opens the game so big I can only see 1/4 of the main menu.
Meaning - I cant change the resolution, because I only see top left 1/4 of the main menu...

Is there a way to set the resolution via a config file?

A ubisoft dev saying this: "Please also try verifying the game's files[ubi.li] if you haven't done so already."

When people say the game refuses to go full screen, or stays off to the side. No the game launches and runs without any issues, yet refuses to reliquish its display to the pc control. Sounds like a PROBLEM for the DEV team to fix. Not steam. Not us. Thanks for shifty blaming tho!
