ubi back to steam -> does that mean ubi connect also removed ?

If ubi come back to steam does that also mean i don't need to connect to the useless ubi connect ? Because of that i stoped playing anno every time i want to play the game i have to reset my pw i am tierd of that i dont have any benefit of this thing i am already login to steam.
i like the game but i not support such stuff. i also will not buy any future stuff of ubi if they don't get away from the ubiconnect BS
that would be sad because anno 1800 is a game which i liked

Like Redmiles The Shark said, they are requiring Ubisoft Connect, whatever store type sell it, be Epic store or steam, still need Ubisoft Connect, I guess they using that information to help whatever they willing to investment project to make more profit by create new game similar or DLC or season pass or gave up and try new type of game on based of feedback.

I think more and more game company doing this way to collect feedback, how many hour people playing, how many hours on DLC, even to point detail of like this game, they knew how many people had been settle island, number of firestation, building, whatever it's for balance issues or try to create new DLC based on that, they are using and collect informations to get know customer doing on the game, more or less. If customer don't like it, they would nerfed or buff or remove or won't forced on customer dislike on something in the game, more or less. I don't know, that's just my theory

Normal game shouldn't and do not need launcher requiring, game can design to play without it, but they want to make sure game requiring launcher by design, accurate information on gamer in detail of game to improve game in their vision that may or may not benefits gamer/player like some player do enjoy overpower but they use that information and nerfed that may cause player are not happy yet other happy with it then some might not care.

It's all my theory, that they want every information on gamer playing game, Please mind you, nothing to do with gamer's real life address, career, all that, no, but rather information on user use their "program", even so called gamer brought game and own it, but rather a "licensed to play on "their" game (program).

In same way in real life, people brought land/home, they think they are owner, but government own land, not people, what happen you stop paying never end property tax? government forced you move out of your home/land even you already paid loan or already paid full for house/land, you still had to pay never ending property tax unless government itself shut down.

If you had issue with ubisoft connect, I suggest create ticket support to get game working fine, I had no issues playing anno 1800, my hours is now 1,700 game play on anno 1800 on based statistics, buildings built had been build 977331, almost million hit, LOL.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like game requiring launcher/online even it's single player game, at least they do ensure offer offline, if internet is down, and still able to play, few game can't be play when internet is down.

Whole point out, this is not perfect world, so enjoy what you had even you may not like idea more or less, if it isn't work out or gave up, than lift burden off, and walk away in peace or deal in peace.

i understand why the companies try to do this but over the time i have so many stupid accounts which i don't need. i understand creating a account for multiplayer.
there are also luncher from other companies which i use because i don't need a account for them. Every account is a security issue and just a not needed obstacle. tbh i will not return to this game until this is fixed. i am not scared i work in IT so i have some understanding of that.
I am just tiered of this stuff.
Also is anno the only game from them which i want to play sometimes. Last time i really played it was short after release the next time i already forgot my pw or it was blocked because of hack i don't remember. Since then i never played the game anymore.
also i don't see in the future a game which i want to play from ubi.
The new Settlers has been ruined. Anno is a game which i like some times because they are easy and are a feel good games. but the feel good is now away because of the useless connect i have a lot of other games to play so will then start one of them. If there is in the future anno with the same issue then i will not buy it. like EA games for example

thank you for you time and effort for this long post i am just sad because that would mean anno is still wasted money for me
