Pearl farm issue, cannot build

I have the fertility but I am unable to build the farm, it is locked. Any ideas?

First off. Is it a natural fertility or did you add it through a harbour master?
If the first, you most likely just don't have enough people yet.
If it's the latter. You can only build within the harbour master's zone and only applies for the new world.

natural fertility. I have three islands settled. I can create cigars, so I meet the population requirement there. I do not see on the pearl farm where there is a pop requirement.

I have this issue to right now..
Its greyed out in builing list and i have the island for it..

If i know Ubisoft correctly that will take several months.

I have a previous game from last year that includes the Iron Tower and the Skyline Tower. The pearl farms work in that game. That being said I started a new game on the 1st of the new year and as others have stated the pearl farms will not unlock.
What I'd like to report is that in both games suddenly most of the special keys like the < and > keys : " and others have stopped working. I've checked other Anno games and it is exclusive to Anno 1800, as you can see I am able to type them in this post. I hope that this is being looked into as well as the pearl farm issue as both seemed to have happened with the last update.

They are extremely slow on getting a fix out, but I think they are looking at it.

So now I am seeing the issue where all islands are missing the pearl fertility in the new world. Started this game a few days ago.
