How to trade?
Whenever I try to trade with others, they ask me to pay a large fee. Everytime. Isn't this game all about trading? I couldn't really progress because of no trade.

You need diplomacy to get a trade treaty going if you want to trade without a fee. Just like in real life trade agreements are in place for favourable terms ^^

- but honestly you don't really need to trade at all in this game, unless you somehow were too slow to claim an island with a resource you need to further develop your civilisation.. and if you end up in a position where you cannot be self-sufficient, and you cannot declare war and take over an island that has that resource from an opponent, you might as well restart the game as you're screwed :p
