Your "new port" is not the Unity-port, then. And one has to be an esper to give you a correct advice. You should've given a name of the source-port, you are tinkering with.
There is a mod for (G)Zdoom, for example, which to some extent emulates behavior of the original ML launcher.
There is, though, a built-in map selection menu for ML in the Unity-port. But it works only with the downloaded from bethesda.net package. And this package is not even a WAD but some sort of UnityFS blob. You can download it for free but registration on and logon to bethesda.net is required.
