im pretty sure your not listening if you are dealing with a path finder user you do not move they cannot see your ectoplasm build up, also you don't need to move to reduce ecto you can taunt to reduce as well.
you just thinking that if the pathfinder wont find me the radar will. which is understandable however the game is situational you react accordingly to any action. and tbh radar users are rather dumb they get a general area but not exact so you can easily juke them.
sometimes I do wonder if people just get killed/ found by a certain device too much and because of said perception, they go on the board and say "x item is OP".
The dev. said that they are looking at the speargun/ bazooka as they think that will prolly need some tinkering, but other than that I've seen almost every device and every weapon being called OP so far...
You ARE gonna be found eventually in this game, the game ISN'T like prophunt in GARRY'S MOD where the objective was just sit still and don't be found for 5 minutes... People have to learn that there is more to ghosts than just hiding... Multiple times we ghosts have killed entire hunter teams in the first 2 minutes of the game as hunters don't exptect that such an offence could be possible and are often very cocky before midnight as a result.
It takes 4 hits for a ghost to knock a hunter down, 2 hits if 2 ghosts gang up to a single hunter. Be a doppleganger and attack someone that split up from the group, most of the time the confusion and realisation will have you be able to get atleast 2 or 3 hits in and with luck he can't hit you and you're able to down him with no health loss at all.
The offensive abilities with ghosts can do tremendous damage... Corruptor + poltergeist, I've been running around as poltergeist + ability of shorter cooldown for abilities as a small prop just smacking people with every object/ furniture I saw on my way as they were chasing me. It's HILARIOUS to hear all the *smacks* they are getting behind me as I'm running away as a lamp.
If majority of ghosts are just being defensive and sitting still letting ectoplasm build up and don't even look for opportunities... well... you're just gonna be one of those 3 ghosts that are gonna be vaccuumed before midnight strikes.
(also know the game DOESN'T end just because you're in "haunt mode"... I've been able to fool entire hunter-teams with cold spots, so they couldn't find the last remaining 4th ghost, resulting in ALL of us coming back at midnight. Haunt mode is crucial and I feel it's often over-looked and seen as a "game-over... don't care" attitude.)
