I would look up games such as Warhammer: Words of Vengeance and Blood Typers... Get rid of the voting system. Keep it so you're attacking people by entering prompts. You'd get a much better quality finished product. It being a "Fighting game" would guarantee that, but it has to be fun or interesting to play....
