There is deer, boars, baby boars, bears and bear cubs still exist.
Haunted Barn, never heard of it, from the previous update?
When you die, are you hitting revive or quit? If you select revive, random stuff in your backpack will be lost. Always best to select quit and load back in at your last save.
Yeah, saves were something i learned a LONG time ago back when AD&D first started porting turn-based games over to computers. I just think the revive is too harsh. And who are these aliens (with stealth cloaks) who is stealing your stuff or is it just the wind doing it? I mean, i just like a video game to make sense to "some" degree (i.e. you died from being burned alive BECAUSE you stood on a campfire, ect). That whole "you lose stuff when you die" never sat well with me in the first place because it had no logic behind it. I like being given, at least once chance, to go and get my stuff if i drop it or it's stolen.
Ah you are talking about the barn near the community. Those footsteps you are hearing belong to bandits. They come from the Cave Camp on the hill above the community. They walk through that area.
Oh, i just figured out what the "thumping" noise was. It's that hive monster, in the barn, that just sits there.
I also ran into the "woot, woot, woot" zombie....kinda weird. Still wondering what causes the random "boom"(s) in the game.
The NPC's we rescue don't shoot but the bandits do. The Seeker Nest "Hive Monster" you are hearing it's heart beat.
Wooot woot zombie? The thing with claws sticking from it's head? That would be a Seeker.
The random booms are car crashes. If you go to the crash site, you rescue a survivor. They give a reward, ranging from garbage to really good. After receiving the reward you have an opportunity to trade with them. FYI, trading disappears after x amount of game days, not sure what the magic number is or it's glitch.
How good are the bandits? Do you have to use Rambo tactics to take them out or is it like FPS where you've got a relative 50/50 chance of getting hit and killed or getting hit and somewhat wounded? As you can see, I've not gotten far out of my comfort zone of the middle hills and township. Man, the seeker is TOUGH. After 16 hits, with a machete, it was still coming.
The seeker nest, how do you kill it? I chopped on it and nothing happened. I feel weird asking but it's SO easy to die in this game that i spend more time on loading save games than playing, lol. Generally, i tend to survive a long time. I can go 100s of days on 7 days to die and never bite the dust but this game is so twitchy and you take more damage jumping off hills that other things.
I've never worked on a wiki but i would be willing to put a little time in it if it would serve to help players out.
The seeker nest can only be destroyed by a molotov cocktail.
The bandits can be quite accurate, but they are very predictable. position yourself within viewing range, but of course far enough away so that they don't see you and observe their patterns. After you have that somewhat figured out, take a shot at one of them and then observe their patterns while they are running from spot to spot and taking shots at you. Then you will have a much better understanding of how to beat them.
Put the gun(s) AND attachments in your inventory. NOT in the hotbar. Then right click on the gun and select Modify. Click on each area of the gun to see what attachments go where. Any gun that does not have the Modify option are not yet able to be modified.
I feel stupid on this new game, i don't even know how to make the car run after i put everything in and gas it. Before, there was an ignition button.
Yeah, the new game really needs to be shored up. I can't even put the Dragunov in my hands, it will only sit in the inventory. Personally, and this is just me, i think the enemies are a bit too powerful. I could kill the old ones with spears with a well placed shot. I think they need to set levels to where you can play back on the old level. I miss some of the elements of the old game. It had a decent map.
Can you save and enlist AIs anymore and has anyone seen any animals to tame and how do you tame them? I hate to be "the guy asking all the questions" but this game is very different from the old one.
Welp, that goes to prove that you are cheating cause if you have the Dragunov, then you are cheating. Not that there's anything wrong with that in a single player game. Cheat to your heart's delight. The Dragunov and the other sniper rifle, along with other various goodies are not implemented in the game and therefore unable to be used.
There are 3 NPCs and a dog that you can rescue, but in all honesty, except for the compass, molotov cocktails and copper wire, they are useless and only get in the way. The dog can be used to kill bandits and infected at least.
If you are referring to the message about taming animals, that isn't in the game yet.
More like sampling than cheating, this isn't an official play. I'm just trying to figure out what all the game can and can't do, the Dragunov is one can't. I have one official save i've not changed but i decided to start a new game to just feel it out to see what i am and am not missing. I'll go back to my original game, which the game is...well...in all honesty "cheating" me where i fall through floors and die, lose inventory that i shouldn't after a save, ect.
