i played both and i like more dead island , since you can lvl up , customize weapons , assing skill points , do quests and sidequests :) , L4D2 is fun too , but i like RPGs style games , is up to you

of course dead island. L4D2 is good for MP yeah, but still co-opping DI is more fun because you can just derp around and you dont have to worry about a horde of zombies running after ya

I recommend L4D2 over DI. But I'm not a that big fan of open world games. If you are, then DI is the game to pick.

I've played both, and I think left 4 dead 2 is a better game. Left 4 dead 2 has better re-play ablitity too. Dead island has a fun enviroment for the first half an hour then the mission style and the story gets hard to follow because peolple can run ahead like in borderlands and ruin the game for you.

All the arguments in the comments supporting Dead Island are ridiculous. You like it more because it's an Open world RPG game and you can upgrade you character and such? No sh*t, Sherlock, it's an RPG game, what did you expect? L4D and L4D2 are more arcade-based shooters but they sitll have their glory moments if you play them with friends and even online, L4D has way more content in terms of variety than this game. I've played it before and it was reaaally boring, especially in the last few arcs of the game where you get to the people shooting people part, it gets really repetitive, real fast. In my opinion, if you like a good RPG game and could take a blow or two to your variety meter because you'll be doing the exact same thing for the first couple of hours, then the the exact same thing for something else the next few hours... you get the point - then yes, get this game. If you have friends to play through with you that's even better. But if I had to choose between L4D and DI, I'd pick L4D any day eventhough it's more linear and arcade-based, I still prefer it since it delivers much more fun, excitement and once again.. VARIETY in its different game modes, as well as the Director spawning different infected and different bonuses such as ammo, health or pills/adrenaline more often or less frequent. L4D is a joy ride compared to Dead Island but it too could get repetitive. It all comes down to what you like and what your friends would like to play with, OP, because both these games are most fun with friends.

i have the first left 4 dead. i played it alot. i mainly play online with random people and have fun. i like dead rising 1/2 also. I guess i'll have to get left 4 dead 2. Dead Island seems fun also but i'll wait till riptide is 5 bucks hehe.

Fighting system in L4D2 is much better. In DI you often have to use melee weapons because you have no ammo or the guns suck^^

They're both SO different, it's incomperable, if you feel like sheer CHAOS play left 4 dead 2. but if you feel more strategic about conserving your resources and helping out people, play dead island.
