need cd key or code activation!!!
Uplay asking cd key.. how I suppose to get cd key when the game cant running yet from steam. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TRASH LA . steam dont give cd key..Uplay asking cd key. HELP iiiiiiiiiii

Hey there guys,

Apologies we didn't respond here sooner and sorry to see you're being asked for a key on launch, this shouldn't be required.

To try and resolve this, could you please give the steps below a try;

Firstly, please make sure you're launching Steam and Ubisoft Connect with admin privileges, by following these steps[ubi.li].

Then, please, navigate to the Ubisoft Game Launcher "cache" folder, by default located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache

Open the cache folder and move the "ownership" folder to a safe location.

Once you have backed up that folder, delete the "cache" folder.

After deleting the cache folder, please verify the game files within Steam[ubi.li].

If an issue is found, you will be given the option to Repair, click Repair. After repairing the issue, please verify the game again until no issues are found.

When this has been completed, try launching the game again.

Please let us know how you get on!

I followed the advice from the members above saying to launch Oddysey first.
Although it took all night to download and install Oddysey, this trick works. Launched Oddysey, quit and ran AC3 Remastered and it started straight away, no stuffing around deleting and moving random folders was required.
Not sure what trick people who don't own Oddysey can use to get it working, but I'm happy this workaround got my game launching properly.

Thanks for the update BondyLicious, those who own the standalone remaster should be able to get through with the above steps - glad to see you were able to get it running with Odyssey though and thanks for sharing that here!
