Will there be the problem of the cd key missing if I buy this game alone without ac odyssey?

Many people ask where the cd key that uplay is asking for this game is. The answer is download Ac odyssey first and launch it. Ok great. What if i don't buy ac odyssey and buy the standalone ac3 remastered game? Will there be a problem with uplay asking for a cd key and steam not giving one? This game is kinda expensive and i don't want to spend my money on something that i will not be able to play.

I don't want to buy AC Odyssey Deluxe, I just want to buy AC3 Remastered on steam (the standalone game). If you buy Ac odyssey and steam doesn't give you a key for AC3, there is still an easy solution for that. What if I just buy AC3 remastered alone though? Do I still get a cd key for uplay or is it a waste of money?

AFAIK it should just activate then, without a key. Like AC Odyssey license itself activates on Ubisoft account without requiring a key.
The problem with AC3 & AC Odyssey Season Pass is that the AC3 license is bound to Ubisoft account only during AC Odyssey startup which is not entirely obvious.

Waste of money in what sense? You'll get the game and will be able to play it.

By waste of money I mean: I get the standaline game on steam (without ac odyssey). It is 1. Gonna eequire a cd key and ir won't
give me a cd key to put in uplay. 2. Uplay won't detect the game cuz i need to launch ac odyssey to do that but i won't be having ac odyssey.

The problem of AC3R and AC Odyssey is because AC Odyssey Season Pass provides license for AC3R but only after launching AC Odyssey.
There should be no problem buying a separate game, like buying any other Ubisoft's game in Steam. So far I haven't seen even one complaint about standalone AC3R.

Hey paulgm23,

Nowadays you don't receive keys with titles as they're automatically activated and bound to your Steam and Ubisoft accounts.

If you purchase Assassin's Creed III Remastered, on it's own - it should launch fine via Steam and bind to your Ubisoft account at the same time.

You do not need the Odyssey Season Pass to play ACIII Remastered if you've bought ACIII Remastered on it's own.

If you are asked for a key, please let us know as this shouldn't be the case.
